Baku Tbilisi Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline

Exxon/Mobil has done more than any other company to stop the world from tackling climate change, charges Greenpeace. Their campaign urges citizens not to buy gas from Esso, the UK division of Exxon/Mobil.
05/24/2005 "ExxonMobil's unwillingness to build a low-carbon future is only furthering the dangerous addiction to fossil fuels," says a major U.S.-based environmental coalition, offering a letter citizens can e-mail to Dr. Michael Boskin before Wednesday's meeting urging him to lead the company toward a clean energy future.

Threats to Our Oil Supply and the Rising Cost of Oil also Threaten Our Food Supply
05/16/2005 From farm to plate, the modern food system relies heavily on cheap oil. Threats to our oil supply also threaten our food supply. Although agriculture is increasingly more energy efficient, as food undergoes more processing and travels farther the amount of energy consumed between the farm gate and the kitchen table continues to rise.

Ford's Shareholders Meet this Week
05/12/2005 Despite technology allowing greater fuel economy and the elimination of greenhouse gas emissions by 2020, many of today's Ford vehicles get fewer miles per gallon than the Model-T did 80 years ago. In the wake of GE's commitment to go green, Global Exchange is asking you to encourage Ford to follow suit.

05/11/2005 With the energy bill approaching the Senate floor, the Bush administration is endorsing it as the solution to U.S. dependence on foreign oil. Opponents, however, point out many of the bill's shortcomings, including increased oil imports and, continued rising gas prices, and environmental concerns, and charge that the administration's claims are patently false.

05/02/2005 President Bush missed a key opportunity to demand an end to brutal human rights abuses and discrimination against women when he met with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Abdullah last week, U.S.-based rights groups are saying.
