Solar energy is catching on in India, but U.S. policy on renewables still lags.
06/30/2005 Tuesday's Senate passage of the Energy Bill made some progress in setting renewable energy targets, but overall has failed to take any meaningful action to move the U.S. away from its reliance on oil, say energy policy analysts Jeff Rickert and Brian Siu.

06/20/2005 Would you believe that one of the largest shopping and entertainment complexes in the world could be built--and powered for the rest of its existence--with clean energy sources such as biodiesel and wind power? It will be tough, but American mega-mall mogul Robert Congel is determined to build this zero energy retail mecca in upstate New York; he believes it will launch a renewable revolution.

06/16/2005 Bolivia's president has resigned, the next two in line for succession have been convinced to defer, and journalists, politicians, and social leaders have moved from talking about "crisis" to talking about "war." At issue, explains NACLA editor Teo Ballvé, is under what terms foreign corporations will be allowed to explore, process, and export the country's oil and gas resources--if at all.
