Il Cipsi – Coordinamento che raggruppa 35 associazioni impegnate da oltre 30 anni nella cooperazione e nella solidarietą - si rivolge a tutti i candidati con una lettera aperta con la quale chiede loro di impegnarsi in un nuovo approccio alla cooperazione "per sostenere la difesa dei diritti fondamentali e dei beni comuni ripartendo da principi di ri-distribuzione del potere individuale e collettivo. Greenpeace affronta il dibattito sul nucleare che considera "risposta sbagliata alla domanda di energia". E La Lav ha passato al setaccio i programmi dei partiti e delle Coalizioni sulla questione dei diritti degli animali.

03/30/2006 The debate is still on. To reduce poverty, should we use redistributive policies like taxation or accelerate growth so that the trickle down effect does the job? It is now clear that neither, by itself, is sufficient to eliminate poverty whether we look at the issue at the international level or at the level of a particular country or region.

03/30/2006 “I calcoli del Ministero degli Esteri (Mae) sull’impegno italiano in materia di aiuto pubblico allo sviluppo sono poco trasparenti. Per questo motivo chiediamo alla Farnesina di esplicitare le voci contabili che secondo il loro ultimo aggiornamento farebbero attestare la percentuale di Aps/Pil allo 0,29%”. Cosģ Raffaele Salinari, portavoce del CINI – Coordinamento Italiano Network Internazionali – commenta la nota diffusa oggi dal Mae. Va inoltre ricordato che il Governo Berlusconi aveva deciso di azzerare i «contributi volontari» dell'Italia alle cinque principali agenzie dell'Onu (Unicef, Acnur, Fao, Oms e Unpd) tanto da suscitare la reazione dello stesso Segretario generale dell'Onu, Kofi Annan. Nei giorni scorsi, il Ministero degli Esteri ha deciso di deliberare "una prima tranche di contributi volontari per il 2006 a favore dei maggiori Fondi, Agenzie e Programmi delle Nazioni Unite. In particolare – recita il comunicato del Ministero - si prevede di stanziare, in questa fase, il 50% dei contributi complessivi versati a tali Enti nel 2005".
