Balraj Puri from the People's Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) says that terrorism in the north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir has dwarfed the human rights of orphans, widows, handicapped, weaker sections, displaced persons and many others. He says that it is a high time that people took notice of these rights also.

Si chiama "Breaking Stereotypes" ("Un taglio agli stereotipi"), nasce nell’Anno europeo delle pari opportunità per tutti ed è parte integrante della campagna "Sì alle diversità No alle discriminazioni" il concorso al quale potranno partecipare gli studenti di fotografia provenienti da tutta l’Europa: iscrizioni aperto fino al 30 giugno. Intanto la Conferenza Mediterranea della Croce Rossa, che si è svolta fino al 31 marzo ad Atene, chiede che il dramma dei migranti sia all'attenzione dei Governi, della società civile e degli operatori umanitari internazionali. La discriminazione può essere vinta solo con la formazione delle comunità locali e dei giovani che devono divenire veri e propri mediatori culturali.

With two of every three children facing some form of physical abuse, an official study, "Child Abuse: India 2007," has suggested that the issue be placed on the national agenda. Fifty percent of the abusers are people known to the child or in a position of trust and responsibility.
