09/30/2004 Una coalizione di 55 Ong europee ha presentato oggi a L'Aia un rapporto nel quale segnala numerose scappatoie e carenze nel Codice di condotta dell'Ue sui trasferimenti di armi. Le Ong chiedono che il Codice sia rafforzato e denunciano la poca volontà politica dell'Ue per portare a compimento la revisione. Tra il 1994 e il 2001, l'Ue ha esportato 20 miliardi di dollari di armi verso paesi del Terzo mondo. Intanto in prossimità del lancio in Italia della "Campagna sulle armi leggere", la Rete italiana per il disarmo organizza dall'1 al 3 ottobre un momento di formazione: ultimi posti disponibili.

09/30/2004 Amnestyn mukaan vuosittain noin 90 000 suomalaisnaista joutuu kokemaan väkivaltaa, jonka tekijänä on oma puoliso. Järjestön mukaan palveluiden taso on monessa kunnassa täysin riittämätön, vaikka juuri kunnilla ja niiden poliittisilla päättäjillä on avainasema väkivaltakierteen katkaisemisessa. Amnesty haastaakin kuntavaaliehdokkaat keskustelemaan naisiin kohdistuvan väkivallan estämisen keinoista vaalipaneeleissaan.

09/29/2004 Deux autres piqueteros ont été arrêtés, cette fois à Quilmes (grand Buenos Aires), accusés d' "extorsion" pour avoir participé à un blocage d'une usine frigorifique à laquelle ils demandaient de la viande. Les détenus appartiennent au Mouvement Indépendant de Retraités et de Chômeurs (MIJD) que conduit Raul Castells. Avec ces nouvelles arrestations, il y a 35 manifestants sociaux en prison pour avoir participé à des protestations.

En su momento, la CIDH alegó que el Estado de Guatemala es responsable de violación a los derechos humanos en perjuicio de Raxcacó, por lo que le recomendó al Estado: adoptar medidas legislativas para garantizar que no se imponga la pena de muerte de manera obligatoria a ninguna persona en ese país.
