To address the need for building up a Southern discourse on the information society phenomenon, ITforChange(ITfC) launched a beta version of 'Information Society Watch' (www.IS-Watch.net) in April 2007. This is a resource portal providing a Southern perspective on information society (IS) issues. ITforChange is a non-profit organization based in Bangalore, India, that visualizes a society competent in the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) as a tool for progressive social change.
