03/25/2008 Convergence has been creeping up on the telecoms and Internet sectors in Africa. Orange has been quietly promoting its Livebox product in a widening range of countries and Telkom will shortly launch IP-TV services through Telkom Media. Gateway Communications set up GTV to compete with DStv in the satellite Pay TV market. However, up until now there has been little data to work out what any of this might mean.

03/18/2008 All'alba del 17 marzo, quarto anniversario degli scontri del 2004, gravi incidenti sono scoppiati tra la polizia e la forza militare internazionali e la popolazione serba a Mitrovica nord. La violenza ha preso il via dopo l'inaspettata azione che ha portato le unità speciali della polizia Unmik a riprendere il controllo dei tribunali distrettuale e comunale di Mitrovica. L'azione è cominciata quando reparti speciali polacchi ed ucraini dell'Unmik, con l'appoggio delle forze francesi della Kfor, sono penetrati nei locali del tribunale, occupati da venerdì 14 marzo dai dipendenti e dai giudici serbi, che ne sono stati allontanati nell'estate del 1999.
