"Lo abbiamo costruito pensando ad una piazza aperta all’incontro e alla collaborazione tra tutti coloro che vogliono dare una mano alla costruzione della pace. Senza etichette né appartenenze, lontano dai luoghi comuni che ancora oggi impediscono l’affermazione di un’autentica cultura nonviolenta della pace" - afferma Flavio Lotti, coordinatore nazionale della Tavola. Intanto il 6-7 luglio ad Assisi si terrà il 23° Seminario Nazionale della Tavola della pace per fare il punto sulla marcia e organizzare la Settimana della pace e la 7a Assemblea dell’ONU dei Popoli di ottobre.

06/28/2007 Un presidio organizzato dal 'Comitato verità e giustizia per Genova' si è tenuto ieri davanti al tribunale di Genova. Nell’occasione il Comitato ha diffuso una nota, nella quale fa il punto sulle dichiarazioni, sulle "dimenticanze" e sui silenzi di diversi funzionari delle forze dell'ordine coinvolte nei fatti della scuola Diaz. Nel frattempo gli altri imputati hanno rinunciato a testimoniare al processo in corso, per evitare, come dichiarato dai loro difensori, le "torture" inflitte a Canterini e Fournier. "Per anni abbiamo denunciato gli abusi compiuti a Genova e le coperture garantite a chi le ha commesse, chiedendo a più riprese una tempestiva sospensione dei dirigenti imputati e la rimozione del capo della polizia. Non siamo stati ascoltati" - nota il Comitato. Nei giorni scorsi il Comitato aveva commentato la nomina di Antonio Manganelli al vertice della Polizia di stato affermando che "non cambia nulla. Il potere politico ha scelto la strada della continuità, senza affrontare il caso G8 nella sua gravità".

06/25/2007 La Tavola della Pace ha deciso di togliere il termine “pace” dalla sigla della prossima edizione della marcia Perugia-Assisi. La spiegazione, riportata anche in una lettera di Flavio Lotti, coordinatore nazionale della Tavola della pace, al Corriere della sera consisterebbe nel "far riflettere sui significati concreti di quel termine". Si è aperto un dibattito: secondo Lisa Clark di Beati i costruttori di pace "Per pace intendiamo la costruzione di un sistema di giustizia internazionale, vogliamo porre l’accento sul cosa permette di costruire la pace". Per Enrico Euli, docente di peacekeeping e gestione dei conflitti a Cagliari, si tratterebbe di "una svolta sinistra, coerente con il percorso che la Tavola sta portando avanti da anni: una degradazione che è in corso da più di un decennio". "Un modo per togliere dall’imbarazzo tanti politici" - commenta p. Alex Zanotelli: "Il valore della pace è sempre stato molto a cuore a tanti, togliere il nome pace dalla marcia vuol dire toglierle il cuore.
