06/29/2007 On May 30, 2005, along with three other persons I received a letter of death threat sent to my office by a person using a name of M. Julfikar from the defender of the New Order. In the letter he said that that I am a communist and disturbing stability in relation to the fights for justice for the Trisakti and Semanggi Student Shooting case (TSS) and accordingly within 15 days I will be executed.

In India, the UN Millennium Campaign and other civil society organizations are pushing the ruling UPA government to meet the MDG targets.

Rifugiati - da UNHCR
06/20/2007 Nel 2006 sono quasi 10 milioni nel mondo i rifugiati e il loro numero è aumentato per la prima volta dal 2002, principalmente a causa della situazione in Iraq: lo ha annunciato oggi, in occasione della Giornata mondiale del Rifugiato, l'Alto Commissariato delle Nazioni Unite per i Rifugiati. L'Unhcr ha presentato oggi il Rapporto che mostra un aumento del 14% per cento del numero di rifugiati di competenza dell'Agenzia. Nel 2006 il gruppo più numeroso di rifugiati sotto la competenza dell'Unhcr è quello degli afgani con 2,1 milioni, seguiti da iracheni con 1,5 milioni, sudanesi con 686mila, somali con 460mila e dai rifugiati dalla Repubblica democratica del Congo e dal Burundi (circa 400mila da ciascun paese). Ai dati dell'Unhcr vanno aggiunti i 4,3 milioni di rifugiati palestinesi che si trovano in Giordania, Libano, Siria e nei Territori Palestinesi Occupati di competenza dell'Unrwa. E si stimano in 24,5 milioni gli sfollati interni fuggiti dai conflitti alla fine del 2006.
