Earlier this year a debt cancellation package was agreed for 18 of the world's most impoverished countries, but now the IMF has announced a final test must be passed by six of them to qualify for the January write-off. Africa Action wants you to join them this week in telling the IMF that more delays cost more lives!

400,00 people have died in Darfur since the genocide began, yet the Bush Administration has failed to take the action necessary to protect the people, says Africa Action. Join them Thursday for a rally outside the State Department, and help make it clear that the U.S. has a moral obligation to stop the genocide in Darfur.

Write a holiday card to a prisoner of conscience or send a letter to the Guatemalan government on behalf of a women's organization being harassed for its work with rape victims. A petition calling for the arrest of the two men said to have orchestrated the Srebrenica massacre during the Bosnia war was originally drafted in July for the tenth anniversary of the horrific event. Mark the tenth anniversary of the Dayton Accords, which ended the war, by adding your name to the nearly 10,000 signatures already on the petition.
