Frequently Asked Questions
1. Where are the OneWorld offices located?
We are located at 3201 New Mexico Ave NW, Suite 395 Washington DC 20016.

2. What is the best way to get there by mass transit?
You can take the red line metro to the Tenleytown-AU stop and ride the American University shuttle to the campus. Get out at the Ward Circle building and walk a block toward the traffic light where you will make a left onto New Mexico Ave. We are about two blocks from the light on the left hand side of the street, right above Chef Geoff.

3. How long do interns usually work?
Interns work 15-20 hours per week, and they come into the office at least two days per week. This is the minimum amount of time required for the internship; we encourage interns to work more if possible. The internship usually lasts one semester (August to December or January to May). Summer interns, May to August, usually work a full time schedule of 35-40 hours per week.

4. Can I get college credit?
Yes. This will need to be handled and approved through your school.

5. Can I work some of my hours from home?
Yes! You will need to coordinate this with your internship supervisor.

6. Do I need to be a student to intern?
No. We will accept any qualified person who is interested in the position.

7. Do I need special skills or training prior to interning?
For a few internships, it is helpful to have some computer skills, such at HTML for the editorial internships. However, there is no need to worry if you don’t. Our interns will be trained in the necessary programs needed for their particular internship. Also, it is important for any potential intern to be interested in human rights and sustainable development.
