03/02/2007 In un nuovo rapporto diffuso oggi, Amnesty International denuncia che il cosiddetto ‘miracolo’ economico cinese comporta un costo umano terribile: i lavoratori che migrano dalle campagne verso le città subiscono i peggiori soprusi sul posto di lavoro. Si stima che dai 150 ai 200 milioni di persone si siano spostate dalle campagne alle città in cerca di lavoro e che il loro numero crescerà nel prossimo decennio. In alcuni centri urbani, ormai costituiscono la maggioranza della popolazione. E milioni di bambini di lavoratori migranti sono a loro volta vittime del “sistema” e lottano per ottenere un’educazione decente. Intanto le “Madri di Tiananmen” hanno chiesto al governo la verità sul massacro del 1989: nessuna risposta ma Pechino sta considerando la possibilità di abolire il sistema della "rieducazione attraverso il lavoro", paragonabile al lavoro forzato.
