11/07/2003 Rosine Mahinou, a mother of seven never thought she would send her girls to school. But that was five years ago. Today, Ms. Mahinou has enrolled all of her girls in school along with her boys. This sea change in her attitude is largely due to a programme promoting girls’ education called Education and Community, in her village in Benin.

10/13/2003 Barely two weeks after 116 children were returned to neighbouring Benin, another set of 120 children kidnapped from that country have been rescued by the Nigerian police. The children were victims of child trafficking and forced child labour, according to the police.
