The school enrolment and retention rate was low in the Tafea Province on the island of Tanna, Vanuatu, in the South Pacific Ocean. Children did not want to attend. Parents saw little value in sending them. But today, the struggle is to get the children to leave once the school day is over.

Vanuatu is a small Pacific island. For a long time now, Radio Vanuatu has been playing an important role in communication, especially during national emergencies. The station is the only media in the island to reach out to all communities. It recently got two new consoles, which will help in uninterrupted broadcasting of its programmes across the country.
