Sudanin presidentti Omer al-Bashir

Sudan's president Omer al-Bashir.
11/27/2006 If Sudan's president does not act to end the bloodshed in Darfur, he will have to answer to a war crimes court, a top UK diplomat said last week. "If there are more atrocities," he added, it will be because "a government denied protection to its people."

11/03/2006 Sudan's president massively played down the severity of the conflict in his country's western region of Darfur Thursday, comparing a proposed UN peacekeeping force to the U.S. presence in Iraq.

Darfurilainen pakolainen Chadissa
11/01/2006 Kongon demokraattisen tasavallan sunnuntaiset vaalit sujuivat rauhallisesti. Ainakin osasyynä tähän on Sudanin Darfurin alueen tilanteen heijastuminen naapurimaihin.
