- International tensions with Iran reached a high point last week as the Islamic nation conducted missile tests, firing at least one missile that could reach Israel. The EU also called on Iran to abandon its alleged nuclear weapons program while a group of prominent human rights leaders known as the Elders appealed for a diplomatic resolution to the geopolitical hostilities.
- Anti-war activists, including religious groups, students, trade unions, and others participated in the "Call to Action: No War with Iran" event last week that featured a series of protests and demonstrations in cities around the United States.
- The United States sent a representative to meet with Iranian officials and EU leaders Wednesday to discuss Iran's nuclear weapons program. The Iranian Foreign Minister responded positively to the U.S. presence at the talks, said the Wall Street Journal, adding that EU leaders are expected to offer Iran economic and diplomatic incentives to halt its nuclear activities .
