Celebrate a Green Halloween!

WASHINGTON, Oct 5 (OneWorld) - As October 31 creeps and crawls closer, various environmental and humanitarian organizations offer a multitude of tips and games that the whole family can enjoy while promoting environmental sustainability and respectable living standards for all.

Help fair trade activists ensure that cocoa farmers receive a worthy price for their products and can send their children to school rather than to work in the fields by giving this year's miniature princesses and pirates Fair Trade chocolate.

Also available from Global Exchange's Fair Trade online store are specially designed goody bags that include individually wrapped, bite-sized chocolates; kid-friendly postcards about Fair Trade; traditional "Day of the Dead" streamer decorations handmade by artisans in Mexico; and much more.

For some environmentally friendly Halloween fun, get your kids involved in the World Wildlife Fund's online pumpkin carving contest.

Carving this year's pumpkin(s) using wildlife-themed stencils will allow you to teach your child about endangered species and foreign habitats. If you post pictures of your kids' creations by October 29, you'll even have a chance to win the online competition!

If your family's appetite for a green Halloween (and good conscience candy!) has not been satisfied yet, encourage your kids to organize their very own Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF Fundraiser.

Happy Halloween!
