Women's Learning Partnership for Rights, Development, and Peace

WLP is an international NGO that works to empower women and girls in the Global South and strengthen their ability to take leadership roles in their families, communities, and nations. WLP conducts its work in cooperation with partner organizations based in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. WLP's programs include leadership training and capacity-building for women's human rights, democracy advocacy, and social justice.

Iranian women's rights campaigner released from prison.
04/18/2007 Two Iranian women's rights campaigners were released from detention this weekend, but officials have summoned 11 more to court and charged police with detaining "inappropriately dressed" women.
