Advocacy Adviser - Hunger Reduction

Save the Children UK

With food prices at record levels and increasing numbers of undernourished children in the poorest countries of the world, it’s a key time to be creating dramatic change for children.

You will lead on advocacy to implement our strategy to reduce child hunger. An expert in lobbying and campaigning, you’ll be a source of advice on the development of advocacy strategies and will be the leading advocate on child hunger, focusing in particular on social protection and nutrition policy. Backed by, and supporting, a team of food security and nutrition specialists, you will use a range of tactics to influence key global government and multi-lateral targets. You will also provide strategic direction to our country programmes on their own advocacy planning around hunger.

With significant experience in advocacy for international development and a proven track record of success, you’re ready to make an impact. You have well developed strategic, organisational, communication and writing skills. You are also able to work across teams, bringing people together with a common objective.

Some experience in the fields of food security, nutrition, livelihoods or health would be an advantage. Some media skills also would be useful.
