OneWorld facilitates learning around communications, technology, fundraising and other topics of interest to nonprofit professionals.

OneWorld U.S. provides a space for staff of partner organizations and other interested individuals to share their knowledge and experiences and learn from each other.

OneWorld U.S.’s Peer Learning Exchange brings together practitioners to discuss topics of mutual interest.

The meetings take place every month at the OneWorld U.S. office in Washington D.C. Partner staff based in other cities often participate by telephone.

The presentations and ensuing discussions offer a good mix of technical information and practical experience that participants can take back to their own organizations and put to use in their everyday work.

Participation in Peer Learning meetings is free for staff of OneWorld partner organizations and costs $50 for other interested individuals.

What People Are Saying

“I’ve found the OneWorld Peer Learning sessions very useful for thinking about how we design our website and work on outreach strategies. Having the opportunity to learn from the “experts” as well as hearing what other organizations are doing has been quite valuable.” - Janet Larsen, Earth Policy Institute

“The Peer Learning meetings are exceptionally valuable for those of us who direct or manage NGOs and have little time for professional development and strategy workshops or sessions. My organization has benefited greatly by the real-world presentations provided by collegial nonprofit leaders at the lunchtime discussions on issues such as media, communications, fund raising and corporate partnerships.” - Al Santoli, President, Asia America Initiative

“The peer learning sessions have been invaluable to us at Council for a Livable World. We have had been exposed to many new ideas, and the student Flash design campaign we are now working on was directly inspired by a peer learning session. We have been exposed to new vendors and technology, as well.” - Guy Stevens, Council for a Livable World

“I like that you bring together people doing similar jobs and give us an opportunity to share. It’s much more useful than an expensive training course.”

“The meeting was great—good gathering of interesting organizations. I would like to have more opportunities to get people together, look at their work and share ways to do things.”

“It was wonderful to swap ideas, tips and joint frustrations.”
